Radio ad campaign takes Market to local listeners

New Covent Garden Market has begun a year-long advertising campaign on local radio station Riverside Radio.
Throughout 2026, we will be the official partner of the Wandsworth channel’s weather bulletins – which means every weather report on the breakfast show (7-10am) and drivetime (4-6pm) will be followed by a strapline promoting the market to an audience predominantly (though not exclusively) in our local borough. That's roughly 2,500 opportunities for local businesses and residents to learn more about the amazing market in their midst.
The straplines will change to reflect occasions and seasons and brilliant breakfast show host Jason Rosam has already recorded several of the people who work in the market for snippets that talk about their roles in the market and what it’s like to work in such a dynamic, diverse and unique environment.
You can hear what’s going out by listening to the shows through Riverside Radio's website or app or through DAB and TuneIn. We've also put links to the first two breakfast shows of this week before, so you can listen back to the first airings of our ad - we're at the end of the weather, twice every hour!
The principal aims are to raise awareness amongst the local population of all ages of first, what New Covent Garden Market is and what we do here, second, why businesses and (where relevant) individuals should buy fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants here if they don’t already (or continue to, if they do), and third, why a career at NCGM is an attractive and rewarding option available on their doorstep.
There are many other reasons behind the campaign, not least of which is the opportunity to support a local radio station, for our local community, which is largely staffed by volunteers and provides a fantastic hyper local service to its listeners. It's expertly run by MD Jason, who has extensive experience across national BBC network and other commercial radio stations. We recommend you have a listen!
