Nnamdi Nnachi-Cole Quartet

Atrium, The Food Exchange: July 15th, 12-1pm

After a wonderful piano recital in the Atrium of the Food Exchange in March, the same venue is now going to host a jazz session from 12-1pm on Wednesday July 15th. Everyone reading this article is invited to attend for free.

Stars of the show on this occasion will be the Nnamdi Nnachi-Cole Quartet with UK young drummer of the year, Ellis Gates.

Nnamdi Nnachi-Cole is a young pianist trained at the esteemed Julian Joseph Jazz Academy. He is already turning heads and attracting positive waves as one of the newest emerging stars on the London jazz scene.

South London musician Ellis Gates has been crowned Young Drummer of the Year, securing his place in drumming history at the  Zildjian Young Drummer contest, testament to his extraordinary talent and dedication. He’s heavily influenced by Roy Haynes, Art Blakey and Tony Williams.

Hass Richards is making waves on the London jazz scene and regularly performs at esteemed jazz venues across the city, including World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens, Vortex and 606 Club, bringing a thoughtful, groove-driven approach shaped by both self-discovery and formal jazz mentorship at the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy.

Joe Walker is an up-and-coming alto-saxophonist known for his bold sound. Joe also leads his own jazz quartet, honouring the legacy of John Coltrane’s sound, and has played at venues across London, including at the EFG London Jazz Festival. Joe currently studies at the internationally acclaimed Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

Jazz in The Gardens is a jazz festival running through the summer in and around Embassy Gardens. Organised by local charity World Heart Beat (WHB) the programme features a mix of global stars and tomorrow’s trailblazers, and bursts with talent, interest, energy and outstanding performances.

This is a free-to-attend event and open to everyone in the market and a wide cohort of local residents and businesses will also be invited. Feel free to invite family, friends or associates you feel would enjoy the occasion. There will also be refreshments provided, so please book via this link if you intend to attend, to give us an idea of numbers.

We look forward to seeing you there on the day.
