Entrepreneur Frankie Michaela Spivey has joined the Mission Kitchen team as a full-time Membership, Events and Sales Manager, bringing her relationship full circle after launching her start-up – Frankie’s Brownies – at Mission Kitchen in 2022.

Based on the first floor of New Covent Garden Market’s Food Exchange building and celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Mission Kitchen offers start-up businesses commercial kitchen and co-working spaces on their way to becoming the next generation of food industry leaders. Once you’re a member, kitchen spaces can be rented by the day, week, or month.

As a current Mission Kitchen member and successful business owner, Frankie jumped at the chance to join the new team, using her knowledge and experience to support fellow members on the road from start-up to success.

So, what made Frankie want to join the team? “I absolutely love Mission Kitchen and I've continued to be a member here for more than four years,” she said, revealing that her business has now reached a stage where she can outsource production and manage remotely. “I've changed the way the business is run, we only produce high-value orders now,” she explained. “Those orders are sent to our co-manufacturer in Heston, near Heathrow. The business is still running in the background whilst I work for Mission Kitchen, showcasing the amazing space and opportunities for food businesses to grow here.”

Having grown up around Kennington and Elephant and Castle, Frankie built her award-winning business creating delicious ‘home-made’ chocolate brownies at Mission Kitchen, winning both the ‘Rising Star’ prize at 2024’s Wandsworth Women’s Enterprise Awards and 'Best Food and Drink Business' at the 2026 Wandsworth Women’s Enterprise Awards. “I’m a south London girl who’s very proud of her roots,” said Frankie. “I’m happy to be a role model for female entrepreneurs and want to prove that there’s nothing stopping people from a background like mine setting up a successful business from scratch.”

Frankie’s ‘amazing’ new role sees her helping new members to join Mission Kitchen, explaining how everything works and showcasing the fantastic foodie space that Mission Kitchen is. “As well as that, I get to highlight the knowledge and kinship that Mission Kitchen members share with each other, as well as all the connections I’ve made,” she said.

“When I first started I quicky had to learn how to be a businesswoman, with a rapid on-the-job education helping me grow my knowledge at the same time as the business expanded. Now that I’m on the other side, my aim is to give back and help new businesses grow and expand in the same way I was supported. I’m really looking forward to it.”
