New Covent Garden Flower Market’s Ilo Bloom was tonight named as a runner up in the prestigious ‘Floral and Plant Wholesaler of the Year’ at the Fresh Produce Consortium’s FPC Fresh Awards 2026.
Owner Damian Waloch is only in his second year of trading as Ilo Bloom, although he has more than a decade of experience in the plant and flower industry.
Growing up around his family-run plant business in Poland, Damian has built up years of knowledge working at NCGM. Starting as a salesman with G.B Foliage, followed by spells with both Bloomfields of London and Porters Foliage, in 2024 Damian realised his ambition of going it alone as a new wholesaler.
“I’m delighted for Ilo Bloom to be recognised,” said Damian. “This year we have continued to grow, and we’ve doubled in size since opening in September 2024. To be judged as one of the best wholesalers across the country is an honour, and I’m looking forward to continuing my adventure, growing the business at an organic, pace, and all the opportunities and challenges that will bring.”
All Ilo Bloom’s stock comes directly from trusted growers, enabling Damian to explain each step of the supply chain, something that customers are very happy to know. From an Environmental, Social, and Governance standpoint, Ilo Bloom is at the forefront. More of Ilo Bloom’s produce is now transported using sustainable paper or cardboard, with organic waste composted and plastic and paper wrapping recycled as part of NCGM’s zero to landfill policy.

Congratulations from everyone at New Covent Garden Market.
