Bevington Salads was tonight named a runner up in the Fruit and Vegetable Wholesaler of the Year category at FPC Fresh Awards 2026, marking another major achievement for the long-established New Covent Garden Market business and adding to its previous success in this category and others at the industry’s Oscars.

Founded in 1988, Bevington Salads has built a reputation for combining the personal service and flexibility of a family-owned wholesaler with the quality standards, professionalism and infrastructure of a much larger operation. The award recognised the company's continued commitment to exceptional customer service, produce quality and operational excellence in an increasingly challenging trading environment.

The past year has been particularly significant for the business following its relocation as part of the redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market. Rather than simply adapting to the move, Bevington Salads invested more than £450,000 in a new purpose-built facility within the market. The relocation was completed in just three days, with only six hours of trading lost, ensuring minimal disruption for customers. Since moving into its new home, the company has increased turnover while benefiting from enhanced storage capacity, improved cold-chain management and modern infrastructure designed to support future growth.

The judges also noted Bevington Salads' resilience during ongoing supply-chain challenges. Through long-standing relationships with trusted UK and European suppliers developed over more than three decades, the company has consistently secured produce for customers during periods of shortage and market uncertainty.
