A warm welcome to Oliver Hare and Angela Hernandez from Chelsea Florals (pictured below), which opened in the Flower Market this week. It’s an established online company offering bespoke hand-tied bouquets created with fresh flowers from across the globe.

Specialising in supplying weddings, events and renowned florists across the capital, what makes Chelsea Florals different is their bouquet service – simply select the flowers you want and they’ll create a bespoke bouquet while you wait. Oliver has already received several wedding enquires from walk-in customers, with lots of potential trade in the pipeline.

“Everyone’s been friendly and helpful and we’re looking forward to getting to know our fellow wholesalers over the weeks ahead,” he says. "I'm a long-standing Flower Market customer, now I’m excited to see the other side as a wholesaler. We’ve only been open four days but we’ve been busy and introduced a bigger range of Ecuadorian and Columbian roses to meet demand. They’re the highest-quality stems and that’s what we specialise in.”

The unique growing conditions of the South American countries mean roses grow at high altitudes in nutrient-rich soil, soaking up 12 hours of sunlight each day. “We use Ecuadorian and Columbian roses as they’re perfect for events and bouquets,” says Oliver. “Ecuadorian roses can last up to 15 days, with vibrant colours, sturdy stems and large blooms.”
