Mission Kitchen, the shared workspace for food entrepreneurs based in the Food Exchange at New Covent Garden Market, has installed a new walk-in freezer to accommodate the needs of its growing membership.
The 4.5m x 5m freezer replaces one a third of its size and reflects rapidly increasing demand for space from a membership base of well over 100. It is already well stocked with product ranging from churros to chips, and fruit and veg to sauces.
Ivan Cardoso, General Manager of Mission Kitchen, said: “Since we opened, we have grown membership numbers gradually and with that, demand for space has expanded too. Some members were using freezer space offered by tenants of the market, but the new freezer will allow the vast majority of product to be stored right next to the kitchens.”
Mission Kitchen, which is now two years old, offers flexible access to commercial kitchens, event space and high-quality co-working and office space, where members can work on all elements of their business outside of the kitchen.
