The installation is the creation of Wandsworth-based artist, @lukemwalker_artist, in collaboration with gardening consultant Lindsay Schuman and the staff & children at @primarygriffin School.
Luke says: "The window is inspired by the staff and students at Griffin Primary School who have turned an underused space in their school into a natural wilderness. The work celebrates how Nine Elms and New Covent Garden Market is being transformed, trying to capture the energy and dynamism such change can bring. Taking a moment to pause in our busy lives, to stop and contemplate what it means to be a citizen and how we can connect and protect our local environments and how, even in the busiest of places, we can find a moment of peace."
The backdrop is painted by Luke, the decorations are made by the children and, with sustainability in mind, this urban forest uses container-grown trees from New Covent Garden Market which will later be transferred to other local locations.
