Halloween merchandise now in stock

Hosting a Halloween party this year or just looking for the perfect pumpkins to decorate your home ahead of the October 31st event? Then a visit to New Covent Garden Flower Market is a must.

Lavenders of Covent Garden is a treasure trove for festive Halloween and Christmas merchandise (sometimes displayed side by side) and Manager Alan Hockley (pictured above) is seeing a growing trend to celebrate All Hallows Eve. “The Halloween season seems to start earlier and earlier each year,” says Alan, “and we’ve seen people already visiting us to stock up on everything they need. Halloween is becoming a bigger calendar event, with restaurants, hotels and even private homes all going big. It gets really busy for us from the second week of October, although many people start decorating earlier in order to get the most from their investment.”

From faux pumpkins and caldrons through to the green-skinned witches (seen in the ‘Wicked’ film and stage show), you’ll find everything you need to make your event go with a bump. “There isn’t really a bestseller for Halloween as the merchandise changes every year,” says Alan, “although we’re seeing lots more greens this year as a result of the popularity of Wicked. Also new this year are skulls and skeletons based on the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ tradition [celebrated annually between October 31 and November 6, mostly in Latin America] that remembers loved ones who’ve passed away.”

As it that wasn’t enough, Lavenders has also taken delivery of a huge range of Christmas stock – some products are already on display, with the full assortment available from Saturday 1 November, when it replaces the current Halloween displays.

Lavenders of Covent Garden is located at Units C1-C2 in the Flower Market. See here for more information.
